Topgolf, a technology-enabled sports and entertainment company, is heading to Scotland with plans to open a state-of-the-art venue in Glasgow in late 2022.
Topgolf Glasgow will be the company’s first venue in Scotland, and its fourth in the UK. Topgolf, a technology-enabled golf experience, operates more than 70 locations across six countries, attracting more than 30 million players annually.
Construction is progressing at Topgolf Glasgow’s Two 74 site, with the development led by UK property company Ashfield Land. The three-level venue will employ more than 300 people.
“The UK holds a special place in our hearts as it’s where our Topgolf story began. It seems very apt that the next leg of our journey takes us to Scotland, the original home of golf,” said Topgolf’s VP of international, Steve Lane.
“The Glasgow venue will be like nothing the country has ever seen. We’re thrilled to kick-off this development together with our partners at Ashfield and introduce a venue where friends and families can safely play together and share experiences.”
Tech-enabled sports and entertainment
Topgolf Glasgow will feature 72 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays. Topgolf’s venues are also home to high-tech gaming, chef-driven menus, hand-crafted cocktails, and event spaces.

“The new Topgolf will create approximately 300 new jobs and we look forward to it opening to the people of Glasgow later this year. I’m sure it’ll be a huge success,” McGarva added.
Last year, Topgolf teamed up with Volta, an industry leader in EV charging networks, to install electric vehicle charging stations at its venues across the US. Prior to that, Topgolf founders Steve and Dave Jolliffe opened the first Puttshack location in the US.Â
TOCA Football, billed as the Topgolf of soccer, is taking its TOCA Social entertainment venues to the US, starting in early 2023. The expansion follows the successful launch of TOCA Social at The O2 in London.
