THC NYC features 10 mind-bending experiences created by artists and filmmakers.

New York‘s House of Cannabis, also known as THC NYC, opens in SoHo on 7 April. Guests will enjoy a multi-sensory and immersive exploration of cannabis culture.

Located in a historic 30,000-square-foot building, the new cultural institution celebrates cannabis and its impact on music, art, fashion, social reform and cultivation.

It features 10 mind-bending experiences created by artists and filmmakers. Additionally, the weed museum has a private lounge and a gathering space for community events.

It also offers a curated retail space selling cannabis-inspired lifestyle products, and a corner store and café.

The attraction was founded by Marcelle Frey and her husband Robert Frey, a Las Vegas club owner.

“This is the first-ever physical home to shine light on the incredible ways that cannabis has influenced culture,” said Robert.

“Whether you are a cannabis aficionado, have a recreational or medicinal relationship to the plant or are just canna curious, I think everyone will be amazed by the artistry and narrative behind the experiences.

“If you understand the cannabis community, you know it is about connectivity, creativity, and important issues affecting social reform.

“We wanted to create an elevated space that helps foster these community values.”

Marcelle told Time Out: “Cannabis culture has a very rich history from every angle, whether it’s music, art, social reform issues that need to be addressed.

“It’s all about connectivity and community, and nobody had ever done anything like this. No one had ever created a home for cannabis that merged all of those ideas together.

“So we’re joining design and art and telling the narrative and the story of cannabis in a way that’s really elevated and true to what it is and its impact on human culture for so many years.”

Despite being dedicated to weed, there is no cannabis for purchase at the museum.
