Rovio Entertainment Corporation, a Finnish mobile-first gaming company and creator of the Angry Birds brand, has joined forces with Attraktion!, a leading manufacturer of media-based attractions.
The new partnership will bring the Angry Birds franchise to the multiplayer platform Playneo.
The two companies will collaborate under the new licencing arrangement, which was arranged by Angry Birds’ worldwide licencing agency IMG, to develop an engaging immersive experience for players all over the world. This will incorporate high-quality graphics and gameplay based on the popular media franchise.
A premier multiplayer platform
Playneo was created by Attraktion!, and is a revolutionary experience for gamers. It blends innovative technology and engaging gameplay to offer a next-generation free-roam entertainment platform. The addition of the Angry Birds franchise provides another exciting and recognisable element for gamers of all ages.
The Angry Birds game for Playneo goes beyond standard 2D graphics by using a high-end 3D style inspired by the Angry Birds movies. The game similarly mirrors the aesthetics and narrative of the films, with players being recruited by Red to protect their island paradise against an invasion of pigs.
Live demonstrations
The game will make its debut this month at the IAAPA Expo Asia in Singapore. From 14 to 16 June, Attraktion! will be running live demonstrations at booth #L1148 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.
It will formally launch in October 2023, with its inaugural venues in the United States, Austria, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates.
Angry Birds is a fan favourite with over five billion downloads, 25+ million social media followers, and 96% brand awareness. Launched in 2009 as a popular mobile game, the brand has now grown into a media franchise that is known around the world. The franchise encompasses a wide range of entertainment and consumer products, two feature films, a long-form Netflix series, and location-based entertainment.
Rovio Entertainment Corporation has been working on a new touring interactive theatrical production with Kilburn Live. Angry Birds Live: The Slingshot Adventure will be North America’s first-ever interactive touring Angry Birds stage performance.
Attraktion! celebrated the installation of the new Explorer 5D experiences in a wide range of locations last year. The advanced stand-up motion system was installed at Austria’s Ikuna Park, Harzdrenalin, Germany, and ArboTerra Nature Park in Puebla, Mexico.
