Merlin Entertainments has revealed new additions for Legoland Florida Resort as it expands for the 2024 season. The resort will soon be home to Sea Life Florida and a brand-new Lego Ferrari Build and Race experience.
Visitors to the brand-new Sea Life location, which joins Merlin’s group of more than 50 Sea Life aquariums around the world, will embark on an oceanic adventure voyage finished by the attraction’s ultimate seascape, The Theme Park Under the Sea, and have the chance to discover a broad range of marine species.
Sea Life Florida and Lego Ferrari Build and Race to be added
A further investment will be made in Legoland Florida Resort with the opening of a brand-new Lego Ferrari Build and Race experience scheduled for spring 2024. This builds on the company’s successful multi-territory relationship with the IP, which includes the recently launched Lego Ferrari Build and Race at Legoland Resorts in Billund, Denmark; Windsor, UK; and California, US.
Through the power of play, the new experience puts guests in control of building, testing, and racing their very own Lego Ferrari. It inspires a lifetime of creativity by bringing guests’ imaginative creations to life on the racecourse.
Merlin has a robust portfolio of brands that includes the Lego Group, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Hasbro’s Peppa Pig, and Cadbury. This latest agreement with Ferrari is a part of Merlin’s broader goal of forming IP collaborations to build branded entertainment venues.
The new Ferrari-themed experience will be added to the more than 50 rides, shows, and themed attractions at the 150-acre theme park, which is inspired by well-known Lego brands and characters. Along with three uniquely themed on-site lodging options, the resort also has a year-round water park.
At the recent China International Import Expo, Merlin Entertainments provided an exclusive preview of the new Legoland Shanghai Resort. Attendees were able to see the new Fengjing Water Town Lego Model ahead of its installation at the new park in Shangai, China, which will be the first Legoland Resort in China and Merlin’s 14th attraction in the country.
