Adventure Attractions has been announced as the new name for Openwide International, an experienced manager, operator, and developer of visitor attractions. The new branding represents Openwide’s growth and diversification over the last 32 years, with the tagline ‘Discover Adventure in every experience’.
In 1992, a group of producers and imagineers founded Openwide with the goal of creating unique shows, attractions, and themes for trade exhibitions, conferences, and events. The business has since expanded into an ever-wider spectrum of projects across the industry and established its own in-house, multi-award-winning brands and operations.
These include a long-term management agreement with North Norfolk district council to run the grade 2 listed Cromer Pier and pavilion theatre, as well as a 25-year lease and cooperation with Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole council to develop and operate Bournemouth Pier. The PierZip, the Cromer Pier Variety Show, and the RockReef Indoor Adventure Attraction are examples of in-house attractions established by the company.
Openwide has served as an operational design consultant for a wide range of clients worldwide, including well-known companies like Warner Brothers and Virgin Holidays. By leveraging the wealth of experience and knowledge gathered from its successful in-house operations and the need to generate optimum returns on investments, Openwide has helped these clients maximise returns economically, socially, and environmentally.
Creating fun, memorable experiences for all
Managing director Sarah Hunter says:
“I believe our new brand identity of Adventure Attractions represents the growth of the company over the last 32 years, and it better reflects the services we offer and the direction that we want to take the company. Our tagline, ‘Discover Adventure in every experience,’ aligns with our vision of creating fun, memorable experiences for all. We believe adventure is about more than thrilling rides or sports attractions; it is about creating excitement & discovering something new, which, to some people, could be as simple as trying a new food or activity.
“This is the start of an exciting new chapter for the company as we actively look for new opportunities to grow and expand our portfolio of attractions.”
The Adventure Attractions brand will be used in the development of all future projects. Openwide International and Openwide Coastal are still in operation, and the re-brand to Adventure Attractions will not have an impact on any ongoing agreements with vendors or contracts.
