ProSlide presents global-first immersive helix water ride feature, the HIVE

News
ProSlide HIVE Chimelong Water Park

ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, has unveiled the HIVE, the global first immersive helix water ride feature. This innovation is set to premiere in 2025 at Zoombezi Bay in the US, Chimelong Water Park in China, and Radamis in Egypt.

The HIVE aims to provide a unique water ride experience that exceeds traditional expectations. ProSlide’s design is inspired by the Flying SAUCER and the energy of a Formula 1 track to offer a fast-paced, adventurous experience in every ride.

Two configurations are available, with a choice of two-person tubing (HIVE 20) or the five-person raft (HIVE 35). This innovative design provides panoramic views in a high-speed, high-g helix. The experience combines visual storytelling and pace, creating a stimulating setting where guests can immerse themselves in the story.

HIVE 20 debuts at Zoombezi Bay

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium runs Zoombezi Bay in Ohio, US, which is recognised for its daring attractions and spirit of adventure. As part of its Conservation Tower expansion, the world-famous water park will debut the first two HIVE 20 installations in the summer of 2025.

This new space will include:

  • The Hive. Guests can enjoy two HIVE 20s with panoramic views and 360-degree spirals for a thrilling zero-g experience.
  • Mussel Mayhem. The TornadoWAVE 12 / TORNADO 18 SwitchBACK duo comes to the American Midwest for the first time.
  • Captina Falls. The global first matting RallyRACER with FlyingSAUCER 8s.

Anthony Sabo, VP of Zoombezi Bay, says: “We couldn’t be more excited to bring Conservation Tower to life at Zoombezi Bay this summer—a first-of-its-kind adventure that blends heart-pounding fun with a purpose.

“Each waterslide in this groundbreaking complex tells a story about the Columbus Zoo’s conservation efforts, starting with The Hive, the first waterslide in the world to feature dual helixes through towering beehives. Only at Zoombezi Bay can you experience unique and cutting-edge attractions while supporting local and global conservation efforts.”

World-first HIVE 35 at Chimelong Water Park

In the spring of 2025, the larger family model, the HIVE 35, will premiere at China’s Chimelong Water Park. The HIVE 35 will be added to the Mega Tower, Asia’s highest family water coaster complex, together with breakthrough attractions such as world firsts for the Launched HydroMAGNETIC LIM Mammoth Water Coaster and the Double TORNADO 60, in addition to the Asia debut for the Flying SAUCER 60.

Jeff Janovich, senior vice president of global strategic partnerships, ProSlide, says: “Our team pushed boundaries to craft this experience for Zoombezi Bay and Chimelong Water Park. HIVE embodies our commitment to clients and our passion for developing unrivalled attractions that define the future of water parks.”
