Miral, Abu Dhabi’s creator of immersive destinations and experiences, has announced it will open the Yas Waterworld expansion this summer.
This phase of the expansion will significantly enhance the water park with 12 new rides and slides, as well as a new dining offering.
Highlights include Al Sahel Junior, the region’s first mini zero-gravity Boomerango. This features exciting drops, winding slides and vertical zooms.
Also, Dawwama Junior is a scaled-down version of the park’s tornado slide, while Rimal Racer will allow young riders to race side-by-side.
Mataha Madness is a maze of twists and turns, Bahamut’s Rage is a thrilling log flume water ride, and Bandit’s Playground is a dynamic splash zone.
Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, group CEO of Miral, said: “We are incredibly excited about Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi’s expansion, which underscores our commitment to further position Yas Island as a top global entertainment and leisure destination.”
New slides and rides on Yas Island
He added: “These 12 new rides and slides will offer our guests unparalleled aquatic adventures, creating joyful and lasting memories for families and thrill-seekers alike.
“This milestone further enriches our portfolio of world-class attractions and plays a key role in supporting Abu Dhabi‘s tourism vision and broader economic diversification efforts.”
For the expansion, Yas Waterworld will introduce a new theme called the Lost City, described as a world of hidden treasures and secret passages.
It builds on the water park’s original story, which is inspired by the UAE’s pearl-diving past.
When the expansion opens, Yas Waterworld will house more than 57 rides, slides, and attractions.
The park is located on Yas Island alongside major destinations like SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Other attractions on the island include Yas Bay Waterfront, Clymb Abu Dhabi, 10 hotels with more than 3,500 rooms, a golf course, a beach and a shopping mall.
