Major projects showcase the company’s expertise in shotcrete, sculpting, and painting

Universal Rocks, an expert in planning, building, and developing themed areas that reproduce the beauty of nature, has shared details of its 2025 slate, in which it is contributing to a number of major projects at theme parks, resorts, and leisure facilities throughout Europe.

With innovative and long-lasting creations, the company continues to set benchmarks for the sector and elevate visitor experiences at leading European destinations.

Fabio Maiuri, CEO of Universal Rocks, says: “We are proud to be part of such diverse and ambitious projects that push the boundaries of thematic immersion. Each location has its own identity, and our mission is to reveal it through unique, durable, and spectacular creations.”

Projects throughout Europe

This year, the company’s projects include a variety of themed environments, from ancient Mayan ruins to Nordic-inspired family areas. These illustrate Universal Rocks’ expertise in shotcrete, sculpting, and painting, strengthening the company’s reputation as a leader in immersive decoration.

Notable projects include:

  • Camp Resort – Europa-Park, Germany. Universal Rocks produced a shotcrete, sculpted, and painted structure evoking an impressive rock form at the centre of the Camp Resort roundabout, as part of the thematic enhancement at the resort’s western-themed hotel.
  • Les Ducs de Savoie Hotel – Courchevel, France. In this ongoing project, the company is designing an immersive cave for the spa at HĂ´tel Les Ducs de Savoie. This will offer an outstanding relaxation experience in a cocooning, mineral environment.
  • Emerald Park, Ireland. Universal Rocks has recently finished crafting the artificial rock components for the TĂr Na nĂ“g zone, which is inspired by Irish mythology. The distinctive structures are crafted from sculpted and hand-painted concrete to reflect the mystical atmosphere of this legendary realm, in a memorable visual visitor experience.
  • Fantasiana, Austria. The new “Helios” coaster, the world’s second Stryker Coaster by Mack Rides, takes visitors on an immersive, golden journey to a mythological world. Universal Rocks has contributed to this launch through the creation of facades, sculptures, and painted finishes for the thematic building.
  • Freizeitpark Plohn, Germany. Universal Rocks created the sculpted and painted rocks for the new Wild Swing, “Aqualuna & die Wunschschaukel”, which offers aquatic immersion and thrills for visitors of all ages.
  • Nigloland, France. The company has reimagined the Pirates Hotel restaurant as part of the resort’s expansion of its hotel offering. Now named “Erizo”, the restaurant boasts a full range of new interior and exterior façades, and ceilings for the extension. Universal Rocks is also replacing the hotel canopy and crafting new columns in shotcrete and paint, and fully repainting the “La Ronde des Canards” attraction.

  • Parc AstĂ©rix, France. For the new “Le Souk” and the “Les Fastes du Nil” Restaurant in The Egyptian Zone, Universal Rocks created interior and exterior façades with shotcrete and thematic columns, and painted murals inside the restaurant. The company is now working on the upcoming “CĂ©tautomatix” Family Roller Coaster, which will feature shotcrete façades, wood-effect beams, and painted finishes.
  • Phantasialand, Germany. The company created façades and paintings to facilitate an immersive transition between the Mexico and Klugheim (Mystery) zones, while upholding the park’s unique narrative and visual coherence.
  • Rulantica – Europa-Park, Germany. Universal Rocks has created sculpted artificial rocks for two new areas: the “Nørd Havn” family area with Nordic port theming, and the “Svømmepøl” outdoor pool with integrated bar.

  • Suntago – Park of Poland, Poland. For the water park’s new “Crocodile Island” indoor family zone, designed in collaboration with Creative Studio Berlin, Universal Rocks has crafted themed façades; sculpted walls of Mayan ruins, tree trunks, and artificial rocks; and sculpted and painted a central circular plaque for the interactive game “Race Through the Ruins,” which is a focal point of the pre-zone.

Universal Rocks continues to bring its expertise to major projects at theme parks, hotels, and water attractions, further cementing its status as a reference in immersive decoration throughout Europe.

Recently, Universal Rocks reflected on its successes in 2024, during which the company reached key milestones through numerous significant collaborations and projects.
