Alcorn McBride, the leading manufacturer of show control, audio and video equipment for the themed entertainment industry, will unveil Touch for iOS with iBeacons at INFOCOMM in June.
Alcorn McBride’s Touch enables a user with any iOS device to interface automatically with their location via iBeacons. (Apple’s new iBeacons (below) are small advanced location transmitters, retailing at about $35 each, requiring no external power source.) Examples of applications for this technology would include maintenance personnel or museum guides who would be presented with screen displays relevant to a nearby piece of equipment or exhibit as they move around an area pre-populated with iBeacons.
Alcorn McBride’s Touch for iOS, available in the Apple App store for $10, also allows users to create graphical interfaces to control an entire facility by communicating wirelessly with Alcorn McBride show controllers such as the V16 Pro, V4 Pro or V-Core.
