Gateway Ticketing Systems, a leading provider of admission control systems, has recently been selected by Magnolia Plantation and Gardens to provide its next Ticketing and Guest Experience solution.

The horticultural venue, located in Charleston, South Carolina, US, has chosen the Galaxy system from Gateway Ticketing Systems. Since its foundation in 1676, Magnolia Plantation has witnessed some of America’s most notable events including the American Revolution and Civil War.

Housing the oldest public gardens in America, Magnolia’s gardens have seen tourists from around the world since they were first made publically available in the early 1870s. The plantation has been family-owned for more than three centuries, with each generation adding its own personal touch.

Magnolia was in need of a single solution that integrated all its key profit-generating centres into one location, such as on-site and online ticketing, admissions, retail, and catering.

A number of ticketing solutions from various providers were considered, however, Magnolia chose to move forward with Galaxy because of the functionality on offer, following the recommendation of another Gateway customer in the Charleston area.

Modular solution

The Galaxy system will be activated with on-site and online ticketing capabilities from early 2022, alongside Galaxy Admission Control so Magnolia can process the tickets it sells. Magnolia will also utilise Galaxy’s Membership module to manage and sell its yearly memberships.

To manage guest flow, Magnolia plans to continue offering timed and capacity tickets, now aided through Galaxy’s Resource Management capabilities, with group sales managed by Galaxy Order Entry. Further guest purchases will be driven by the Galaxy Upsell module, both on-site and online.

Magnolia’s Communications and Analytic Specialist, Martina Remington says “We chose Galaxy for its robust abilities and its operational, accounting, and analysis customisations. Galaxy’s tailored approach requires thoughtful configuration, and the Gateway staff provides thorough guidance in an encouraging atmosphere.

“We feel confident our business needs are being met, and we look forward to providing upgraded levels of service to our visitors and our staff.”

“Forward-thinking organisation”

Alongside the essential core features, Magnolia will utilise Galaxy’s Retail and Food & Beverage modules. It will also benefit from Reporting Plus, which will collate all the information collected from Gateway’s integrated system, organising the data into easy-to-digest reports.

Magnolia has also purchased a Learning Subscription so that colleagues can learn and train with specialist courses designed by a Galaxy expert.

Gateway’s Business Solutions Architect Steve Bell, who worked with Magnolia, adds “It was a pleasure to work with an organisation that is so forward-thinking in how they find modern operational efficiencies that improve the guest experience while still maintaining the historic feel of their venue.”

Peter Wolf, Gateway director of sales and marketing adds “We are proud to provide the ticketing solution for one of America’s most beautiful gardens – and that’s not an opinion – they were recently selected as such by Travel and Leisure Magazine. But to play a small part in the successful operations of such a historic and impressive site is exactly why we do what we do.”

Magnolia Plantations & Gardens will start using the Galaxy system in the first quarter of 2022.

Gateway Ticketing Systems was recently selected by Vue Orleans, Louisiana, USA, to provide its Galaxy Connect ticketing and guest experience solution ahead of opening.
