Imagineear provides MediaPacker™ hand-held devices to Poland's Poznań Zoo

Leading developer of content experiences and apps for cultural and leisure destinations, Imagineear, has provided its MediaPacker™ platform to Poland’s Poznań Zoo.

The company’s handheld devices will be used to deliver a tour of the zoo’s animal collections.

Opened in 1974, the zoo shares its zoological park location with what was the original 19th century zoo.

Attractions include a visitor trail circling lakes that are home to pelicans and flamingos, as well as an artillery fort built by the Prussian army in the late 1800s.

‘Our MediaPacker™, with its 2.4” colour screen and numeric keypad, is a proven and cost-effective player for hand-held media tours of this type,’ reports Ziv Kushnir, Commerical Director of Imagineear.

‘Recognised for its flexibility and stability, it is able to play audio, video and images, sync in multiple languages to video screens, and display text and slideshows. It can offer an almost unlimited number of stops and languages from a single device, and allows tours to be navigated by number, map or by automated triggering’.

Poznań Zoo has selected MediaPacker™ devices as well as headphone and charging racks.

Interest in the MediaPacker™ platform continues apace both in the UK and further afield. Recent converts to the flexibility offered by the multimedia devices include the National Museum, Warsaw and the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing & Sporting Art. The latter has just been shortlisted for the prestigious title of Art Fund Museum of the Year 2017.

With offices in the UK and the Netherlands, Imagineear offers a range of services to help attractions maximise their offering. These include everything from secret shopper services and IP expertise to tour planning and exhibition design.

The company has developed three distinct technology platforms to meet a range of client needs: MPtouch Interactive™, MediaPacker™ and Digital GroupGuide™.

Clients include London’s Tower Bridge, the British Museum and Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum.
