Formula One Grand Prix Brings Benefits to Abu Dhabi Hospitality

News

Abu Dhabi has hosted the Etihad Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix for the past eight years and draws tens of thousands of visitors each year.

This year in excess of 60, 000 F1 fans will flock to the event,  however the benefits are not limited to gate receipts.  In addition to the race itself there are a world class entertainment events laid on around the Grand Prix – this year Rihanna will be in concert.

The $1.5 billion construction cost of the Yas Marina track and hotel is being recouped in high ticket prices ranging from a basic two day pass for US$600 up to an exclusive package including special access and concert for US$5, 400.

The purpose built race track hotel is filled to capacity during the F1 Grand Prix and hotels in the region are able to increase rates around the race.
However, the kudos associated with hosting this high profile event has been used to market Abu Dhabi as a desirable destination for the rest of the year.
