Guide-ID, the audio tour specialist, is now using AI to power its Tour Editor platform. This integration makes professional audio experiences more accessible, providing museums and cultural institutions with the tools to easily create, manage, and update multilingual audio tours.
The AI serves as a co-creator which manages routine or technical tasks, while the institution remains in complete control of content aim, meaning, and tone. By simplifying workflows, the technology saves time, costs, and stress while ensuring excellent quality.
“AI handles the structure, the translations, the groundwork,” says the product team. “But the heart of the story, the facts, the narrative choices, the emotion, still comes from the museum.”
Supporting creative teams
Guide-ID provides intuitive audio guide solutions for heritage sites, cultural institutions and museums worldwide. Its leading device, the Podcatcher Pro, provides a simple, screen-free experience and is accompanied by the Tour Editor platform.
Boosted by AI, the Tour Editor supports creative teams in content creation and develop professional quality tours in mere minutes. A few key details, such as exhibition themes, intended audience, and tone are entered into the platform’s built-in assistant, and are used to create full audio tour scripts that are customised to the context and ready for review. The result is rapid, high-quality content that feels curated and considered.

Additionally, the AI can automatically suggest stops, refine tone of voice, and translate the whole tour into numerous languages while maintaining cultural subtlety and historical context. This is particularly effective for teams with little time or technical experience. With AI support, the creation of professional tours leans less on software skills and gives greater focus to storytelling.
Institutions can then customise the AI-generated content using the platform’s built-in editor; fine-tuning wording, checking facts, and adding their own voice. Once complete, top-tier text-to-speech tools from Microsoft and ElevenLabs transform the scripts into realistic audio, ready for visitors to play using the Podcatcher Pro.
Looking forward, Guide-ID is already developing tools that will allow audio content to adapt dynamically to guest preferences, interests, or time availability. It will also soon offer advanced analytics to help institutions understand how guests are engaging with the tours, and which stories have the greatest impact.
Other new features, such as enhanced realistic voice synthesis and deeper integration between the content platform and museum operations, aim to help institutions develop meaningful and scalable digital storytelling.
Earlier this year, Guide-ID delivered its Podcatcher Pro solution to Casa Batlló in Barcelona. Casa Batlló required a cutting-edge, hands-free audio solution that could handle high daily visitor volumes without compromising the immersive environment or creating friction for the team. By automatically triggering content, the Podcatcher Pro provides an effortless experience for visitors, with no scanning, tapping, or distractions.
