Tessitura, a nonprofit technology company dedicated to helping arts and cultural organisations thrive, will be supporting the Science Museum Group with key functionality such as timed ticketing and contactless scanning when its five museums reopen to the public on 19 May.
As with their reopening in 2020 following the first lockdown, the Science Museum, the Science + Media Museum, the Science + Industry Museum, the Railway Museum and Locomotion, will take advantage of Tessitura technology for a safe and efficient transition.
Building strong relationships
Advance ticketing allows the Science Museum Group to take advantage of other Tessitura features as well, for instance, optional donations in the online purchase path and the opportunity to pre-book activities like Wonderlab, alongside automated pre-visit emails and automated post-visit surveys.
“Tessitura were fantastic in helping us to make that pivot quickly and smoothly, and in a really cost-effective way,” says Pete Dickinson, Director of Communications and Audience Insight, Science Museum Group. “We immediately had better data than we’ve ever had before. And we couldn’t have done it without a partner like Tessitura.”
“At Tessitura, we pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with the arts and cultural organisations in our community,” adds Kerry Reeve, Senior Director for Europe, Tessitura Network.
“We’re delighted to support the Science Museum Group as they prepare to reopen, taking advantage of Tessitura’s built-in features to achieve their goals now and in the future.”
