Christie Unveils Upgraded Real-Time Media Server at Live Design International Show

"We listened to our users."

Audio visual solutions specialist, Christie Digital Systems Inc., showcased the latest, upgraded version of its Pandoras Box real-time media server earlier this month at the Live Design International Show in Las Vegas.

According to Christie, Pandoras Box 6.0 is faster and more intuitive than ever before.

The versatile system marries the newest rendering technology with intuitive media and show control to deliver seamless live experiences such as multi-media events and projection mapping.

“With Pandoras Box 6.0, we listened to our users and focused on improving the general workflow by bringing frequently used features, such as warping, directly within the Pandoras box interface, ” reported Joel St-Denis, Product Manager at Christie.

“The ability to have multiple operators co-operate and programme the same project simultaneously is going to have an enormous, positive impact on how people use Pandoras Box for large events.”

The system can be set up as a standalone playback device, network playback client or in console mode for direct DMX Control.

The Multi User feature enables multiple operators to share a project’s workload by focusing on different tasks simultaneously. The upgrade also features a number of workflow improvements including editable meshes and warps, UV map adjustments and live canvas masking and painting all from within the preview window.

At the same event, Christie also launched Widget Designer 6.0 which now features a redesigned HTML5 user interface and native HTML support including CSS Styles, among other upgrades.

“Combined with Pandoras Box 6.0, Widget Designer 6.0 provides a complete customisable control interface solution for the end user, which no other systems on the market can offer, ” commented St-Denis.
