Scruffy Dog Ltd have once again had the pleasure of teaming up with Thorpe Park Resort team to help re-design, manufacture and install the theming for the newly refurbished Fin’s Bar and Grill at Thorpe Park Resort.
Working on the giant shark and hotel ourselves, Thorpe Park invited us to breathe the essence of their island theme in Fin’s Bar and Grill for guests to feel more a part of the island experience.
We have added an impressive amount of theming to the existing restaurant allowing us to transform a normal restaurant in to an upcycled island theme, injecting more life into the ‘Island like no other’.
The brief was to create the restaurant as if the islander had pieced together the walls and décor himself. Using stripped back wooden panels as our base layer, we cladded the walls and pillars of the restaurant to ‘loosen’ the existing architecture. Our scenic artists then injected a worn paint effect to age the panels into the deep turquoise also found on the Shark Hotel. Using a number of props such as netting, buoys, and individually designed 2D and 3D signage pieces; with a few finishing touches from our artists, the theming quickly came together. We also transformed the Maître D’s desk into a front section of an old Rowboat!
A key entrance and signage feature was our final piece of the project. A bespoke Buoy and sculpted wave was a challenge our sculptors loved to get their hands on. Injecting extensive amounts of colour, the feature creates a bold statement for the restaurants new theme and look.
Fins Bar and Grill is now open so get yourselves down there for a meal or an end of the day cold beverage!
