News

Creative entertainment production studio, Super 78, has won a Thea Outstanding Achievement: Technology Breakthrough Award for its Spongebob Subpants Adventure at Moody Gardens.

The award recognises the company’s development of Geppetto ACS™, a proprietary digital puppetry system that delivers feature film quality 3D animation in real time.

Spongebob Subpants Adventure was also honoured with an Outstanding Achievement Award in the ‘attraction’ category.

Super 78 Studios’ President and Creative Director Brent Young and CEO and Executive Producer Dina Benadon commented together, “We are both thrilled and honoured along with our amazing team to be recognised by TEA for our Geppetto ACS™ technology. We are also privileged to have collaborated along with the talented folks at Moody Gardens and Nickelodeon on the Spongebob Subpants Adventure and we share in their excitement and congratulate them on their outstanding achievement.”

Super 78’s ground-breaking Gepetto technology allows guests to control their adventure and have one-to-one conversations with their favourite Spongebob characters. The immersive experience combines real sea-life aquariums and state-of-the-art 3D technology in a unique attraction where no two rides are ever the same.

Moody Gardens’ President and CEO, John Zendt reports, “Our objective is always to provide that fun, educational experience that is so important to parents and kids, and Spongebob Subpants Adventure attraction will achieve this in a new and exciting way.”
