BALPPA announces a full schedule of talks and seminars for Autumn 2019

Paul Kelly BALPPA

BALPPA, the British Association of Leisure, Parks, Piers and Attractions, has announced it has a busy autumn in store for its members.

BALPAA is pleased to reveal details of a range of talks and seminars that will be taking place over the next few months, as well as its annual Autumn Conference which runs today and tomorrow in Blackpool. Members will be able to take advantage of a variety of professional development events thanks to the association’s busy calendar.

BALPPA has over 300 members and represents the interests of the UK’s commercial leisure parks, piers, zoos, visitor attractions and family entertainment and indoor play centres. Members are currently enjoying an action-packed schedule as they meet for the Autumn Conference in Blackpool, including networking and social events, industry updates and informative seminars.

Supporting professional development

Among the featured venues for the conference are BALPPA member Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Waterpark and The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre. Delegates can also enjoy an overnight stay at the new Boulevard Hotel.

On the 15th October BALPPA will be holding its first Operational Seminar at Drayton Manor Park, where members will benefit from an insight into the key aspects of operations within the business.

Then on the 17th October, The Power of Purchasing Seminar will be taking place at the Prestige Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes Express Business Park in Rushden. This seminar is free to all members and will feature purchasing top tips, theme park diversification, managing and reducing energy costs. There will also be a case study based on an attraction and a tour of the Prestige Factory.

Informative seminars

On the 27th of November at Drayton Manor Park, members are invited to a marketing seminar on key topics such as crisis PR, adding accommodation, SEO and Alexa, GDPR and understanding your audience persona.

Then on the following day, BALPPA’s annual Health and Safety Seminar will take place at Drayton Manor Park’s Hotel.

Yesterday, BALPPA members took part in the charity golf day at Heron’s Reach Golf Club. The tournament, which traditionally takes place the day before the conference, was organised in order to raise money for the Chairman’s chosen charity, the Rainbow Trust.
