TheĀ fourth Crayola Experience amusement centre in the U.S. is set to open in Plano, Texas.
The child-friendly attraction will be located in The Shops at Willow Bend mall.
The indoor facility will occupy a 60,000 square feet new building on the Chapel Hill Blvd. side of the mall.
According to Smith Holland, Crayola’s CEO, the company is planning many more such attractions in shopping malls, which he describes as a ‘good marriage’.
He added that the company was not short of potential opportunities.
The trend for incorporating amusements and attractions into the mall environment continues apace.
Less than six miles away, the Stonebriar Centre mall in Frisco will shortly be home to hit edutainment concept, KidZania. The attraction takes the form of a mini city simulating the real world. Kids can take on the roles of multiple professionals including doctors and firefighters.
Frisco and Plano are some of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S. with children accounting for almost oneĀ third of the population.
Plano’s new Crayola Experience attraction is expected to open its doors in 2018.
The existing Crayola Experience centres are in Mall of America in Minneapolis; Easton, Pennsylvania and Orlando, Florida.
