The Hit musical Wicked has teamed up with Minds Ignited, a UK-based agency specialising in creating marketable schools programmes for leisure venues. They will run a seminar to improve education programmes in visitor attractions on 5th October.
After the seminar, delegates will take in a performance of the hit musical Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.
The seminar will examine the different stages of a school trip. This will enbale delegates to understand how visitor attractions can add value for teachers. There will also be a chance to participate in an award-winning Wicked educational workshop provided by The Artslink, as well as hear from the UK Executive Producer, Michael McCabe, as to why education is important to the West End production.
Additional speakers will include Bernard Donoghue, director of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) and the Mayor of London’s Cultural Tourism Ambassador.
Dominic Wong is co-founder of Minds Ignited, the company behind the seminar. He said, “Our passion is in raising the standards of education programmes in the leisure industry. We work with attractions to better appeal to teachers to fill off-peak times of the day and year. Wicked’s award-winning education programme is a perfect example of a leisure venue providing quality ‘learning outside the classroom’ experiences that pupils will never forget.”
