Frontgrid’s ParadropVR reopens at Universe Science Park

Frontgrid, an expert in adventure leisure and virtual reality attractions, is pleased to announce that its ParadropVR attraction has reopened at Universe Science Park in Denmark after closing because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Universe Science Park, the leading visitor attraction in Denmark, was the first location in the world to install the immersive adventure attraction, ParadropVR. This virtual reality attraction gives guests the chance to control their own adventure through free roam VR content.

The Universe Science Park reopened on Jun 13, and visitors have been increasing steadily. There are strict safety measures in place at the attraction.

Physical distancing and increased sanitisation

These include physical distancing in the outdoor queue for the ParadropVR and enhanced cleaning of the VR headsets. Visitors must also sanitise their hands before entering and after exiting the attraction.

Despite longer queue lines, guests have been happy to wait for ParadropVR. The Chief Operating Officer of Universe Science Park, Jonas Luttermann said that in limiting the number of people allowed in the ParadropVR building has forced visitors to queue outside. “We weren’t sure how they would react but if anything – this just seems to increase the sense of anticipation and demand,” he said.

He continued, saying “We were proud to launch the world-first installation of ParadropVR back in spring 2018. We’re equally pleased and proud to be the first venue to have re-opened ParadropVRTM after the COVID-19 lockdown period.

“Ensuring our cleaning measures are highly visible on ParadropVRTM and other rides means our guests can escape reality for a while, relax and have fun during their time with us.”

Frontgrid working with operators to reopen ParadropVR

Frontgrid has been working hard on supporting ParadropVR operators as they develop new procedures for reopening. Matt Wells, Frontgrid CEO said that “We’re thrilled to hear the ride continues to be so well-received by guests, who have been looking forward to some fun and escapism after the stress of the past weeks.

“We’re looking forward to more venues welcoming guests when local guidelines permit, and stand ready to support our community with anything they might need.”

Frontgrid recently provided a ParadropVR for TEKZONE in Saudi Arabia. The VR attraction will be an anchor attraction for the new location.
