Champtown plans also include a butterfly experience

Lange Real Estate has broken ground on a $500 million mixed-use development called Champtown in Park City, Kansas.

Located on a 160-acre site, the project boasts several attractions, including an aquarium, restaurants, around 132,000 square feet retail space, and a 180-room hotel with an indoor sport venue.

“Champtown is a vision of progress and a glimpse into the future of Park City,” said Rachel Lange-Mills of Lange Real Estate.

Mixed-use development breaks ground

“This groundbreaking ceremony signifies the beginning of a project that will transform our community and provide residents and visitors with a unique destination for years to come.”

The team behind Champtown has already secured partnerships and letters of intent to provide a diverse mix of attractions.

The OdySea Aquarium team from Scottsdale, Arizona will bring a world-class facility to Champtown, and agreements have been acquired for a large retail store, a convenience store, and several restaurants.

Additionally, Champtown will include the ‘Butterfly Wonderland’ attraction, which includes a rainforest-style conservatory, educational displays, live chrysalis observation, and an interactive butterfly environment.

“We are excited to be working with such esteemed partners,” Lange-Mills said. “Each component plays a crucial role in making Champtown a premier destination, not just for the region but for visitors from across the country. The future of Park City has never looked brighter.”

The Park City City Council approved a STAR [sales tax and revenue] bond for the development last year.

Per a press release, the project will “elevate Park City as a major tourist destination and boost the local economy”.
