Geotourist have launched 3 walking tours in Battle, Bexhill and Hastings inspired by the band Keane.
The tours will take users through 1066 Country, where Keane originated from. The band rose to fame with their 2004 song, ‘Somewhere only we know’.
The tours have been created in partnership with 1066 Country Marketing and the Battle Marketing Group to bring a more recent history of the area to life.
The trails are suitable for fans of Keane but also those new to the music of the band. The trails can give enthusiasts a better understand the impact that the local area had on both the band and their work. But the trails also create a new opportunity to uncover more about the band and see how 1066 Country continues to play a key part in the UK’s heritage – from history to pop culture.
The tours take in points of importance to the band and their journey to music stardom, as well as the locations behind the lyrics.
Shaon Talukder, CEO, of Geotourist said, “We are truly delighted to launch the Keane Trails on Geotourist. Not only does it helps fans of the band and visitors to the area access behind-the-band info and insight, but the Geotourist platform means that people can listen to tours in the same way that we now listen to music – through our devices. Our free tours can be enjoyed through your own smart phone, which mean that you can immerse yourself in the world around you as you move at your own speed. Geotourist tours mean that you can take a tour at a time and a pace that suits you – there’s no need to sign up to an organized tour group, making it easy to take a tour in a quiet half hour or to help you orientate yourself when you arrive in a new place. We’re excited about our new musical content and welcome everyone to try it”.
Geotourist walking trails are a new way to connect with somewhere on a deeper lever using just your smartphone.
The trails are free to use and can be accessed via a free app that can be downloaded from the iStore or the Android app store.
