Omnico, the cloud-based POS and customer engagement solutions provider, will be hosting a live webinar entitled “The top 4 post-COVID visitor demands” on 28 October 2021 at 10.30 am / 3.30 pm EDT.
The past 18 months have been challenging for businesses across the attractions industry. According to research, theme park traffic across North America dropped by 72%, from 159.3 million visitors in 2019 to 44.1 million in 2020.
Exclusive access to new visitor data
Now, visitors are beginning to return in the wake of the pandemic, but many predict that we will not see a return to pre-COVID levels even in the first half of 2022. Attractions are asking: what can they do to get consumers back through the gates? And once they are back, how do attractions encourage them to spend more, in order to recoup some of the losses of the last year and a half?
Omnico’s webinar will help to answer these questions, with early access to visitor data, input from industry experts and a live discussion.
The company recently surveyed 4,000 UK and US consumers, to find out what they love, dislike, demand and refuse to put up with at attractions. This acts as a follow-up to Omnico’s previous attractions trends report and measures the impact of the pandemic on consumers’ likelihood to visit attractions. It will provide advice and top tips for attractions on how to get visitors back through the gates, and spending again.
The research, which attendees of the webinar will have exclusive access to, shows:
- 4 in 5 consumers think attractions can do more to encourage them back
- Only 37% of consumers visited an attraction this summer, with many still feeling unsafe
- If an attraction fails to meet their expectations, 29% of consumers would not return
Industry experts take part in discussion
Two industry experts will take part in the webinar and join Omnico for the interactive roundtable session: Brian Seays, director of Information Technology, Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando and Professor Carissa Baker, PhD, theme park and storytelling researcher.
Seays will shine a light on how to connect parks and hotels, providing the omnichannel, personalised experience that guests expect. Meanwhile, will provide practical tips on how to deliver unforgettable attractions experiences.
Designed to be an interactive discussion, the webinar will see the panellists unpack and debate the research findings, with attendees encouraged to join the conversation. Register your interest here.
Earlier this year, Omnico announced that it has seen a significant increase in contactless technology sales across its client base, in the wake of lockdown restrictions being eased.
