Triotech, an award-winning creator of media-based attractions, has announced the new Smash & Reload Maxi ride, in partnership with BoldMove Nation. This joins the award-winning Smash & Reload media dark ride family, blending digital and physical elements into an immersive experience that guests of all ages can enjoy. During IAAPA Expo 2023 in Orlando, Smash & Reload won the esteemed IAAPA Brass Ring Award for Best New Product.

With a strong throughput of 600 people per hour, Smash & Reload Maxi utilises the tried-and-true gameplay and immersive experiences of its smaller predecessors to take the attraction to the next level, making it the best option for medium-sized and bigger parks.

Every Smash & Reload format is compatible with pre-existing structures. Even after installation, Easter eggs and customised messages can be added to the media. With gameplay tailored to the player’s skill level and high scoring to guarantee replayability, the player is at the core of this experience.

A versatile new attraction

The release of Smash & Reload Maxi follows the introduction of another new IP that expands the possibilities for user gameplay. The experience is enhanced by this second IP, Voodoo Festival, which sees voodoo dolls come back to life thanks to mysterious magic. Even the most experienced player will have a surprising experience thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence into the gameplay.

To prevent a complete takeover of the Mardi Gras festivities, players are the last line of defence and must toss Good Luck bags to lift the spell and save the day.

While based on a completely tested gameplay system, the new IP has unprecedented versatility. The family attraction is a hit during nighttime operations and Halloween celebrations since it can be easily transformed into a scary experience with a flip of a switch. It will also be able to support temporary content changes to offer a VIP experience for family gatherings, birthday celebrations, and business and seasonal events.

The benefits of Smash & Reload

There are now three versions in the Smash & Reload series; the Original, the Mini, and the Maxi. The Smash& Reload Original combines a throughput of 430 persons per hour with a small footprint of about 225 m³. Notably, the first Smash & Reload Original “Champi’Folies” at Le PAL park, which debuted in the spring of last year, has won multiple awards, including the IAAPA Brass Ring Awards, the European Star Award, and the Parkscout Plus Award for Best Family Attraction.

Meanwhile, for leisure and retail locations, the Smash & Reload Mini—possibly the smallest track-based dark ride available—creates the ideal FEC landmark. With its eye-catching circular arrangement and compact footprint of about 144 square metres, this attraction helps to draw more footfall.

Each Smash & Reload attraction is customised for each venue using tried-and-true modules and technology. Its easy-to-use gameplay makes it appealing to players of all ages and it can be seamlessly included into the park’s infrastructure. Operators can improve the ride experience with an interactive tour that transforms the waiting area into an engrossing pre-show by expanding the adventure and increasing immersion in the IP realm. A themed shop and food and beverage options can be added to the attraction to generate extra revenue.

A single central staff oversees the planning and installation process for every ride element, working closely with the park’s technical team and regional subcontractors. This ensures effective communication and strict financial management, leading to a premium attraction with a live gaming experience that is distinct from any conventional offering.

Last month, Triotech celebrated the launch of its Dynamic Explorer edutainment experience at the Malta National Aquarium. This immersive attraction takes visitors on an underwater journey unlike any other, seamlessly mixing cutting-edge technology with spectacular effects.
