Island H2O Live! opens in Kissimmee, Florida, with guests taking ‘the first slide of summer’ and joining the official ribbon cutting ceremony. The immersive water park will feature innovative slide experiences and technological enhancements.

“We have an incredible variety of attractions at Island H2O Live! including water coasters, family raft rides, a wave pool, lazy river, kid-friendly experiences and more,” said Island H2O Live! General Manager, Jim Kunau.

“The real star of this park is the ability to share your experience. The addition of this social media interaction allows your experience to go beyond the water park walls and encourage others to join in on the fun.”

An interactive water park with games and experiences

Island H2O Live! offers 20 different experiences for guests of all ages, including an interactive lazy river, exhilarating drop slides, and a wave pool. There’s also a family tube ride and the only looping video-embedded waterslide in the world.

As well as themed areas for children and teens, adults can enjoy the Private Domain pool and a cocktail from the Tag Shack.

New and innovative technology will allow guests to customise their experiences and share them for all to see.

Once in the park, guests can store their cash in a locker and use the park’s smart waterproof wristbands to buy food, merchandise, and communicate with the park itself.

The RFID Smart Band lets guests engage their social media networks through the H2O Live! app. Visitors can set up their profile, choose colour themes and music playlists, earn Park Perk points, and more.

The Smart Band’s four main features are as follows:

  • ‘In My Day’ allows guests to chose their music playlist for the day. They can also choose their favourite colour theme for the app and slide experiences, earn and track badges, check ride wait times, and look at park information.
  • ‘Family & Friends’: Guests can connect with family and friends so they can find them in the park. Parents can set parental controls to keep track of their children and limit what attractions and areas they can access.
  • ‘Park Perks’ are redeemable points that visitors can use, and that can be carried over to the next visit. Guests will soon be able to trade Park Perks for merchandise, F&B, and more.
  • ‘Speed Keys’: Guests will also soon be able to buy Speed Keys for front-of-line access and to reserve time slots on attractions.

As technology becomes increasingly integral in creating unique and memorable visitor experiences, Blooloop has predicted six attraction tech trends as ones to watch in 2019.
