The magical portals of Evermore fantasy theme park in Utah are opening to the world of Mythos, the attraction’s summer event.
The immersive experience of Evermore, where visitors are more like explorers than guests, features theatrical performance, costuming, art effects, and technology.
Over 70 characters interact with visitors – including imps, dwarfs, goblins, and gypsies. More than just silent Disney characters, they are an integral part of the story and interact with visitors.
An enchanted festival of fantasy and magic, celebrating the wondrous grace of dragons, Mythos is coming in summer 2019 – and tickets are now available.
Evermore’s seasonal events
Mythos is a dragon festival loosely based on a broad mix of popular mythologies. “It’s very fantasy, very Shakespearean, a giant dragon festival around the park with quest-driven storylines,” Josh Shipley, Chief Creative Officer, told Blooloop.
In the fall, there is a dual event – Pumpkin Fest for children, and, in the evening, Lore, a haunted experience with Celtic origins. The winter event becomes a beautiful Dickensian Christmas landscape.
Shipley added: “All events are driven by engagement with our actors. Depending on your level of involvement, you can choose your activity. In addition, you can quest, search for items and engage with characters to win rewards.”
Evermore, an ‘experience park’, had its first ribbon cutting ceremony in October as phase one of the project completed.
Shipley, a veteran Disney Imagineer, previously spoke to Blooloop about how Evermore is blurring the lines between video games, fantasy, and real life.
“We have taken the idea of escapism, and are building it from the ground up. Although we are doing it as a fantasy park with a lot of authentic European architecture and propping and styles, the whole park has a technological infrastructure to support the magic of show, and enforce emotion,” he said.
Evermore Park is the childhood dream of Ken Bretschneider, now come to life in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
