International-Womens-Day_2021-Gateway WhiteWater webinar

Event will focus on the experiences of women in the attractions industry

Gateway Ticketing Systems, a leading provider of admission control systems, and WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer, are joining forces to host a special webinar for International Women’s Day 2021. The event, Celebrate, Elevate! Cultivate! Empower Talented Women in our Organizations, will take place on Wednesday 10 March at 2 pm EST.

Supporting women in the workplace

“We want to amplify discussions around how people can support and be allies for women in the workplace,” says Alicia Huppman, Senior Manager, Human Resources at Gateway Ticketing Systems. “These important conversations around diversity, equity and inclusion need to happen more regularly and need to be featured more prominently in our industry.

“We’re proud to partner with WhiteWater on this initiative as the core values of their organization and employees align well with ours.”

The two companies have brought together industry leaders to discuss the important topics impacting the industry today, such as gender stereotypes, inequity and unconscious bias, as well as looking at the personal experiences of the panellists, and their advice on navigating a path in the world of work and careers.

Voices from within the industry

The session will be moderated by Una de Boer, Director of Global Marketing and Strategy at WhiteWater. Panellists include Alicia Huppman, Senior Manager, Human Resources at Gateway Ticketing Systems; John Wood, Chairman and CEO at Sally Dark Rides; June Ko, Executive Director and Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations at IAAPA and Mary Baerg, Chief Operating Officer at Space Center Houston.

Una de Boer, says: “Thanks go to Gateway for hosting this session, it is an important topic. Organisations prosper when talent is developed and a variety of voices are heard; so how do we remove barriers and encourage greater leadership equity?  This panel has great practical insights to share and help us do that. I’m looking forward to hearing what they say!”

In the run-up to International Women’s Day 2021 on 8 March, Gateway Ticketing Systems will be posting biweekly profiles of women who are making a difference in their fields of interest and the lives of girls and women everywhere.

Last month, Gateway announced that it has been chosen to provide ticketing solutions at three key Dubai attractions. Meanwhile, WhiteWater recently celebrated 40 years in the business and announced some changes to its leadership team.
