Lagotronics Projects, the media-based attractions specialist, has announced its involvement in the new “Pradera Islands” theme park project in Pampanga, The Philippines.
The firm has been commissioned by Immersive Planet, a Spanish design agency managing the park’s master plan and design, to be engaged in five different projects at the 23-hectare park.
Lagotronics Projects will be responsible for the development, production and installation of a major media-based dark ride, alongside other attractions and park facilities.
The main attraction
“The Secret of Arayat” is a dark ride that will recreate the Philippine tale of Mount Arayat and the golden palace of Sinukuan. Visitors will undergo an ambitious journey in the search of gemstones hidden in an immersive volcanic landscape.
Scenes utilising 3D video projections will be interspersed with animatronics, detailed scenery and special effects, including hot and cold air, recreated lava and sound effects.
As the main contractor, Lagotronics Projects is responsible for the delivery of the ride system and all show equipment, including video and fog screen projections, LED screens, decorative lighting, audio and SFX systems, along with the main show control system. The ride track and custom-design vehicles will be delivered in partnership with Metallbau Emmeln.
Virtual adventure
Visitors will also be able to ride “Attack of the Aswang”, a unique virtual reality coaster. Wearing VR headsets, visitors will find themselves in Aswayan, a flying dragon constructed from wood and bamboo. Riders will fly at fast speeds with a number of unexpected turns along the way, through the jungle, a volcano, and a Filipino village.
The coaster will be supplied by Preston & Barbier, working with VR Coaster (Mack Rides). Lagotronics Projects will be responsible for the VR equipment’s delivery and installation.
Family interaction
Bolstering up the lineup, two interactive towers by Sunkid will also be installed. Riders will try to hit as many targets as possible to achieve the highest score, using interactive magic wands which are thoughtfully incorporated into the design.
Lagotronics Projects will supply the interactive software, magic wands, scoring system, and over fifty targets to be located in eight decorated trees surrounding the towers.
The final ride Lagotronics Projects will work on is a Convoy Ride from Zamperla, which will be an outdoor ride equipped with Lagotronics’ interactive system.
A modern camera is provided for each car for visitors to photograph as many creatures as possible on their journey. For each quality photo, guests will be awarded points and the scoring system keeps track of each player’s score.
A sound project
Lagotronics Projects will also supply the entire park’s sound system, which will be divided into different zones for tailored background music and sound effects. The system will be controllable from one central point where settings can be adjusted, such as volume and soundtracks. Announcements can be made throughout the park, or in separate zones through Pradera Islands’ PA system.
Lagotronics Projects will also provide the sound system for the venue’s fountain show as well as music and sound effects for the Haunted House attraction.
Lagotronics recently announced its new interactive flat ride, Battle Arena, which can be installed in amusement parks and FECs.
