Momentum Leisure and Plopsa Group are expanding Majaland Warsaw in Poland to include an adjacent water park.
The Plopsa Group will develop the water park alongside Momentum Leisure, a subsidiary of Amsterdam-based investor Momentum Capital.
The project brings Momentum’s total investment in Poland to €200 million. Working with Plopsa, part of Belgian media company Studio 100, Momentum has funded several Majaland parks in Poland.
These include Majaland Kownaty, which opened in 2018, and Majaland Warsaw, opened in April 2022. Majaland Gdańsk is under development.

Majaland Warsaw and the new water park are part of Nhood’s Góraszka mixed-use retailtainment development. The land was purchased from real estate company Ceetrus.
“Over the past five years we have experienced a very successful cooperation with Ceetrus and Nhood,” said Martijn van Rheenen, founder of Momentum.
“So successful that immediately after the opening of Majaland we reached an agreement for the acquisition of land for the water park.”
“We are grateful that with our experience in realising theme parks we can be part of a unique combination of leisure, varied services and shopping,” Van Rheenen added.
“The fact that we can do this with Europe’s leading retail group makes us proud. Our formulas are complementary to a great extent and we’re actively expanding our cooperation.”
Momentum’s fourth park in Poland
Nhood is a real estate operator that manages 24 shopping centres and malls owned by Ceetrus. The company also creates mixed-use projects.
“We are glad to cooperate with Momentum in creating this unique mixed-use project in Mazovia,” said Ada Walentek, CEO of Nhood.
“Through our new mixed-use investment in Góraszka we want to create a friendly neighborhood and provide residents of southeastern Warsaw with attractive leisure, family entertainment and convenient shopping opportunities.”
Last year, Plopsa Group expanded its European footprint with the opening of Majaland Praha in the Czech Republic. The park is based on Studio 100 character Maya the Bee.
The water park’s theming will be revealed later this year.
