Dronisos, a leading drone light show specialist, has provided Europe’s biggest-ever drone show for the Bastille Day celebrations at Disneyland Paris.
The show took place above the Sleeping Beauty Castle and featured 1,495 drones. These were accompanied by light effects, fountains and pyrotechnics.
Dronisos is the Official Technology Provider of Disneyland Paris and worked in partnership with the attraction’s show production and artistic teams to create the ambitious display. The show’s content was closely guarded until its reveal at the Bastille Day celebrations.
Iconic imagery
The display featured Disney and Pixar favourites and also celebrated France with iconic imagery such as Parisian landmarks and the tricolour flag.
Dronisos has been working with Disneyland Paris since 2018 and has delivered almost 1,000 shows totalling over 20,000 flight hours. The firm’s commitment to ongoing innovation has resulted in highly creative shows which attract ever-growing visitor numbers.
Ben Spalding, producer of the Bastille Day show, Disneyland Paris, says: “Yet another spectacular show, storytelling at its best! And what better way than to create it with the very talented Dronisos team? I am very proud of all the passionate teams who have worked together yet again to go even further. Onwards and upwards!”
Fusion of art and technology
Founder of Dronisos, Jean-Dominique Lauwereins, adds: “The Bastille Day show, showcasing 1,500 drones, results of the powerful fusion between state-of-the-art technology and highly-advanced artistic direction. Together with the teams at Disneyland Paris, we share a common vision: using technology to create enchanting dreams and magical experiences. This project is a big success, and we express our gratitude to the Disneyland Paris teams for their trust and collaboration!”
Dronisos recently announced that its partnership with Dollywood, Tennessee will continue for a second year. The ongoing partnership renews its Official Provider status and will result in a series of permanent drone shows.
