Visitors will step into an oversized Monopoly-themed world

Monopoly Dreams, a new immersive experience inspired by the Hasbro board game, is opening in Melbourne, Australia on 21 October.

As per a press release, Monopoly Dreams is a “unique blend of entertainment, innovation, and nostalgia, where reality and the iconic game seamlessly merge”.

Visitors will step into an oversized Monopoly-themed world where they can explore famous landmarks, iconic characters and exciting challenges.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to create an immersive experience that captures the essence of Monopoly and transports guests into a magical world of excitement and imagination,” said Mark Connolly, general manager of Monopoly Dreams.

“We are thrilled to announce that tickets are now available, giving fans the opportunity to be a part of this extraordinary adventure.”

Hasbro is expanding its portfolio of location-based entertainment (LBE) experiences. The company recently unveiled the first-ever Nerf-themed land at Beto Carrero World in Brazil.

From 12 October, guests at Beto Carrero World will enjoy family-friendly rides, a themed restaurant and a Nerf shop.

Last year, Hasbro’s Monopoly Lifesized board game experience opened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It followed the launch of Monopoly Lifesized in London in 2021.

Hasbro LBE expansion

“We realised that in creating a location-based production of Monopoly, we would have to add value,” said David Hutchinson, CEO of The Path Entertainment Group, the company behind Monopoly Lifesized.

“People wouldn’t want to just interact in the same way but on a larger scale. Having a big board and throwing dice and playing in a traditional format wouldn’t work. Traditional Monopoly can last into the small hours, anyway.

“Thinking about how we could bring a second element to that is where the idea of all the placemaking around the properties evolved into small games and escape rooms.”

Tickets for the new Monopoly Dreams attraction are on sale now.
