HOLOGATE HYPER GOLF US launch

HOLOGATE, a global leader in turnkey compact multiplayer VR systems, has revealed that it will launch HOLOGATE HYPER GOLF at the 2023 IAAPA Expo in Orlando.

The IAAPA Expo is taking place at the Orange County Convention Center from 13 – 17 November, with the trade show floor opening on 14 November.

Delegates will be able to experience the new HOLOGATE HYPER GOLF mini-golf adventure at the firm’s booth #4273 on the trade show floor, as the attraction is revealed in North America for the first time.

Mini-golf multisensory experience

Visitors to the IAAPA Expo will have the opportunity to enjoy this amazing blend of mini-golf and cutting-edge social competitive gaming for the first time. The attraction offers a combination of video arcade games and mini-golf, and appeals to fans of both genres across all age groups.

Every HYPER GOLF ball features LED lights that allocate a different colour to each player, and give reactive lighting signals during play. The sensors in each ball will monitor how many times the ball has been played and will automatically keep score – this is displayed on scoreboards and, eventually, in the hall of fame. This removes the need for manual scoring, and so increases player satisfaction. The entertaining game can be played either competitively or casually.

The geometric course design, complete with thrilling bumpers and difficult obstacles, comes to life with stunning animations, a plethora of electrifying sound and lighting effects, and dynamic physical props. Mini-golf reaches a whole new level of immersion with this one-of-a-kind multisensory experience.

HOLOGATE HYPER GOLF US launch holes

Each of the nine holes offers a different challenge with its own personality, whether your goal is to test your strategic ability, move at the speed of light, or showcase your dancing skills. There are countless venue configurations possible thanks to the holes’ modular design.

The course’s nine holes consist of:

  • Night City. Players can choose between different levels of difficulty.
  • Space Frenzy. A high-speed challenge where players need to target as many holes as possible.
  • Galactic Pinball. Players use their feet to activate the flippers and shoot the ball into the digital pinball machine.
  • Funky DJ. Shoot the ball inside the boombox, then earn high scores by keeping to the rhythm.
  • Holotron. Go past the moving obstacles by following the light trail, in a challenge where timing is key.
  • The Heist. A code-breaking challenge where players must hit the colours in the right order.
  • Crazy Cubes. This hole will test players’ focus as they try to find the correct angle among the spinning cubes.
  • Monster Mash. Players must feed the hungry monster by scoring with as few strikes as possible, as quickly as possible.
  • The Dragon. The Dragon is the final boss and offers the potential for players to maximise their score.

Leif Petersen, HOLOGATE CEO and founder, says: “We are thrilled to debut HOLOGATE HYPER GOLF to North America at IAAPA Expo! This groundbreaking experience infuses the future into a classic, merging technology and physical gameplay in a way that has rarely been seen before. It’s an electrifying adventure for the young and young at heart, and we can’t wait for players to step into this world of interactive excitement.”

Earlier this year, HOLOGATE announced that its immersive experience, Ghostbusters VR Academy had become available to enjoy across the world with the biggest out-of-home VR network. The title was developed by HOLOGATE, and published by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR).
