Holovis, a leading experience designer, is celebrating the success of its popular 360Golf solution as the largest installation yet prepares to open in the GCC later this year.
With seamless tracking and automated stroke-counting technology built into the familiar golf balls, along with next-generation gamification that offers a new level of participation, Holovis 360Golf has completely re-imagined the game of mini-golf.
Guests register their teams at self-service kiosks before obtaining a ball that is assigned to each player individually. Teams then begin play when the course’s sensors identify who is taking a turn, and special technology in the balls allows them to automatically tally the number of strokes made.
Each course has unique “supershot” bonuses and penalties that increase the level of challenge and excitement. These are automatically tracked, and the proprietary network system calculates and displays the scores on the course screens.
Thousands of satisfied visitors have already experienced Holovis 360Golf around the world, including at two UK Level X locations in Middlesborough and Glasgow.
New locations will be biggest to date
Holovis’ specialised real-time DeepSmarts data analytics system continuously monitors all installations, giving operators access to an intuitive dashboard that displays operational data, such as course usage, uptime, scheduled maintenance reminders, course, hole, and ball health, and battery conditions. It also shows user data, including player volumes, game lengths, and high scores.
Presently, Holovis is completing the finishing touches on two of the biggest 360Golf courses yet. Set to open later this year, these will be the first of eleven courses throughout the GCC. As the rollout moves forward, more information about these distinctive courses will be made available, but Holovis promises that the scope and ambition of the course designs are unmatched in the history of the game, with some holes allowing the balls to safely travel over 15 feet in the air.
Clients can select from a wide range of pre-designed designs, or the Holovis creative team can collaborate with them to develop and build a custom course that is tailored to their location, theme, or even brand and intellectual property (IP) if necessary.
“360Golf is re-inventing the game! Our automated stroke counting technology, combined with our exciting approach to gamification, creates a really enjoyable competitive socialising experience for families and friends,” says James Lodder, head of products at Holovis.
“Our installed courses are generating excellent returns for our clients. We’re excited to be first to market with next-gen features, including dynamically reactive courses to improve accessibility for low-skill players while challenging the pros!”
The firm also recently celebrated SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s success at the Thea Awards Gala. Holovis was one of the companies that brought the SeaWorld Abu Dhabi project to life, having worked on the AV supply and installation throughout the park as well as the design, production, and installation of the S·E·A Guardian Games, one of the world’s most ambitious interactive experiences in a theme park.
