Singapore’s Mandai Wildlife Reserve has unveiled some of its upcoming attractions, including an eco-friendly resort and new nature-inspired experiences.
Mandai Wildlife Reserve is currently made up of Singapore’s four wildlife parks – the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and Bird Paradise.
The fifth park, Rainforest Wild, is not yet open to the public. It is divided into two sites – Asia and Africa.
In the former, guests will enjoy adventure elements. They will also meet animals like the Malayan tiger, Malayan sun bear and François’ langur.

Highlights here include a 220-metre cavern inhabited by cave racer snakes, scorpions, hissing cockroaches, and other reptiles and invertebrates.
In the Africa region, guests will meet animals such as the Pygmy hippo and okapi.
“While we continue to focus on expanding our positive impact in the fields of nature conservation, animal wildlife and zoological research, we are excited by the prospect of immersing our guests in a wide array of nature and wildlife experiences at the fully opened Mandai Wildlife Reserve,” said Mike Barclay, group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group.
“This integrated destination will be a unique gateway to many inspiring and respectful interactions with nature and animals, that Singaporeans and guests from overseas can enjoy.”
New resort, parks and indoor venues
The new eco-friendly Mandai Rainforest Resort, operated by Banyan Tree, will open in the first half of next year as Singapore’s first-ever super low energy (SLE) resort.
Located on a 4.6-hectare site planted with native trees, the 338-room resort includes treehouses looking out over the reservoir, a wellness centre, and a restaurant using sustainably sourced ingredients.
“We are excited to unveil new options for stayovers, with the Mandai Rainforest Resort acting as the perfect launch pad for exploring our wildlife parks and the many other offerings at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve,” Barclay added.
“We welcome Banyan Tree, the homegrown company with a globally renowned brand, as the operator of this new resort.”

Finally, Mandai Wildlife Reserve is launching new indoor experiences in two buildings on its eastern side.
‘Exploria’ is an immersive edutainment venue, while ‘Green Canvas’ is a new space for travelling exhibitions, nature-themed lifestyle events, and talks.
‘Curiosity Cove’ is an immersive playscape, and the ‘Mandai Gallery’ is an exhibition space exploring the history of Singapore’s zoological parks.
Pico Play, a global leader in the planning, design, development and construction of world-class themed attractions, recently completed a project for Bird Paradise.
