An evolving industry

With over 350 exhibitors and a trade show floor covering 7,839 square feet, the expo provides unmatched opportunities for networking, partnership, and expansion.

The opening ceremony featured performances by traditional dancers against a backdrop of picturesque rice fields, laying the foundations for a celebration of innovation and culture. Attendees gathered for a final display of lights and music to mark the event’s official opening.

Jack Chan, executive director and vice president of the IAAPA Asia-Pacific region (APAC), says: “IAAPA Expo Asia 2024 is a testament to Thailand’s dynamic growth and emergence as a key player in the attractions industry.

“The theme of ‘evolution’ resonates strongly, emphasizing the need for businesses to adapt and innovate. I encourage attendees to seize the opportunity to network and collaborate, and I look forward to seeing the innovations that emerge from this exciting event.”

Our theme of ‘evolution’ highlights the need to adapt and innovate to stay competitive. IAAPA’s comprehensive education programs cover a diverse range of topics, offering valuable insights for navigating the evolving industry and meeting changing consumer preferences.”

Wuthichai Luangamornlert, managing director of Siam Amazing Park in Bangkok and IAAPA global board chair, adds: “The industry’s enthusiasm is palpable, and IAAPA Expo Asia is the perfect platform for leaders to exchange ideas and chart a course for success.”

IAAPA Honors & Hall of Fame Awards

During the opening ceremony, Wahl announced that IAAPA Honors will take place from 28 to 30 April 2025 at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany. This three-day event will recognise outstanding achievements and cutting-edge innovations in the attractions sector.

Wahl says: “The IAAPA Honors Awards Program is more than just a ceremony; it’s a celebration of excellence and a testament to the incredible talent and innovation within our industry. Our goal is to inspire our members by showcasing the best and brightest in the attractions community and to provide a platform for networking, learning, and professional growth. The event will honor innovation within attractions of all types and sizes.”

The IAAPA Honors will champion excellence in a variety of categories, including a range of Brass Ring Awards, regional honours for service to the Association and the industry, Young Professional of the Year, a new Inspiration Award, and the Liseberg Applause Award, among others.

Inspirational talks and EDUTours will accompany the awards programme, supporting the advancement of the sector and providing members with valuable insights and firsthand experiences to help them develop their knowledge and abilities.

The event will have even greater significance as its host, Europa-Park, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025.
