Shedd Aquarium has teamed up with Twentieth Century Fox consumer products and SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment to bring you Ice-Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs The 4-D experience.

Fans of the movie that are lucky enough to visit the attraction during the opening week will be welcomed by Sid & Scrat, stars of the blockbuster movie. The attraction is ideal for all ages and begins with a 14 minute, high-definition 3-D movie, which employs a variety of high-tech, audio-visual special effects, to fully immerse visitors to the attraction in the Ice Age action.
Manny, Diego and Ellie take guests on an adventure underground, and when Sid the Sloth finds three abandoned eggs and decides to raise them himself, so begins the excitement in the Lost World of Dinosaurs.
Visitors will be thrilled by the Ice Age experience, thanks to the 4-D technology that allows them to experience an invigorating range of special effects, ranging from snow, winds, scents, water squirting, leg ticklers, air bursts, seat buzzers and much more, all from within a 4-D experience seat. Shedd’s Phelps Auditorium, which houses the only 4-D experience in Chicago, will be the venue.

The expansion coincides with the release of Ice Age: continental Drift which is due for release on July 13th.

The Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs 4-D experience costs $6, or just $3 for Shedd members and is played at 20 minutes past the hour.
The Planet Earth Pole to Pole plays once an hour for $6. You can buy a Shedd pass at the theatre entrance. If you buy the Total Experience pass, the 4-D Experience, Express pass and City pass are all included.
