Paragon creates Bighi Exhibit for Malta’s National Interactive Science Centre

News

Leading theming specialist, Paragon Creative, has been awarded the contract for an exhibition at Malta’s new National Interactive Science Centre.

The centre will be housed in the historic Royal Naval Bighi Hospital complex which is undergoing restoration. Plans include interactive galleries, a multi-purpose auditorium, a planetarium, laboratories, workshop spaces, as well as cafes and landscaped gardens.

The £80, 000 exhibition tells the story of the hospital which provided a crucial medical service for the British and allied forces for 140 years. It will be located in the clifftop Cot Lift building which overlooks the Grand Harbour, once home to the British Mediterranean Fleet.

The purpose of the Cot Lift was to transport wounded sailors and soldiers from the ships moored in the harbour below, up to the hospital above. The lift is being restored and upgraded to allow cruise ship passengers access to the Science Centre and its exhibitions.

Paragon are already very experienced in this market, with a diverse portfolio of over a thousand projects for clients such as Istanbul Aquarium, the Children’s Museum in Cairo and the Science Museum, London.
