Cirque du Soleil plans New Virtual Reality (VR) experience, Dreams of “O.”

Canadian Entertainment brand and show producer Cirque du Soleil has teamed up with virtual reality (VR) technology and content production studio Felix & Paul Studios to highlight its aquatic show “O.”

Dreams of “O” will give viewers a new experience of the Cirque du Soleil aquatic show “O”. It will feature a 12-minute, 360-degree 3D experience including fire,  aerial acrobatics and pyrotechnics together with surreal amphibious characters.

He said, “Cirque du felix & paul studios logo blooloopSoleil’s ‘O’ is one of the world’s most innovative theatrical productions inspired by the infinity and elegance of water’s pure form and delivered by world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers and divers.

“To immerse viewers in the same ethereal, dreamlike mood in an original VR experience, we combined simultaneous underwater and slow-motion shooting–a feat that required us to significantly modify our proprietary camera technology, merging the two techniques to more poignantly evoke the artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance of ‘O.’”

Cirque du Soleil pushes the Boundaries

Dreams of “O” marks the third collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and Felix & Paul Studios. The two previously partnered on Inside the Box of Kurios and KÀ The Battle Within.

Dreams of “O” is now available for Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus via the Oculus Store.
