Former Disney and DreamWorks Animation executive Jim Fielding is the new President of Consumer Products and Innovation for Fox Television Group and Twentieth Century Fox Film.
In his new role, Fielding will oversee licensing, product and new business development in the consumer retail space. This will be across both the businesses and FX Networks. Fielding’s most recent role was Global Head of Consumer Products and Retail at DreamWorks Animation. He will be based in Los Angeles, California.
With 25 years of experience in the consumer retail sector, Fielding was the President of Disney Stores Worldwide. During his tenure he led a $1.2 billion global business with operated 360 shops in 12 countries. He also led the expanding e-commerce business at DisneyStore.com.
Fox recently announced the creation of a new division, FoxNext, headed up by Salil Mehta. This new divsion will oversee the company’s location-based entertainment (LBE) projects. These include the development of the 20th Century Fox World theme parks in Dubai and Malaysia.
FoxNext will also work on the production of studio franchise VR experiences such as Alien and Planet of the Apes. It will also work on developing its VR strategy. Fox recently announced a partnership with MGM specifically to develop VR experiences.
