Los Angeles-based entertainment company, Hero Ventures, will enter Thailand with a Marvel digital adventure dome project in Bangkok.
The dome will be built at a cost of more than 1 billion baht ($30.2 million) reports the Bangkok Post.
It will cater to both local and international tourists: mainly youngsters and family. The attraction is expected to draw 1 million visitors during the first three months of operation when it opens next year.
A local franchise firm, Hero Experience Co, will develop and operate the dome project in Bangkok. They were awarded the licence on September 5 by the American character entertainment firm.
Chief executive of the US’s Hero Ventures, Rick Licht, said that the reality adventure dome will be a first-of-its-kind in Southeast Asia. The entertainment attraction will be called The Marvel Experience.
It will feature well-known digital Marvel characters such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Wolverine, Captain America, and more.
“Bangkok is a perfect location for our expansion in Southeast Asia,” Mr Licht said.
The Marvel Experience chose Thailand because it has a huge fan base in the country, according to Noppadon Jason Chirasanti, co-chief executive of Hero Experience.
“Having this new theme attraction will draw even more tourists, which will surely help family entertainment tourism to grow,” Mr Noppadon said.
Hero Ventures, LLC develops and produces live entertainment experiences using innovative technology. They previously launched a touring Marvel dome concept, depicted in the image.
