WalletHub has compared the 150 largest U.S. cities based on 58 key metrics. They range from fitness centres per capita, to movie costs, to average open hours of breweries.

They found Las Vegas, NV, to be the most fun city in America with a score of 68.25. That’s nearly 10 points ahead of second place, Orlando FL with a score of 59.27.

New York, NY, scooped third – while Miami, FL, took fourth.

Down in 150th place – the lowest scoring city – was Oxnard, CA – scoring just 21.61.

WalletHub also ranked the cities on other key metrics: such as the most restaurants per capita.  New York, Orlando and Las Vegas were all joint first.

As for lowest average beer price – Albuquerque, NM, scored top – and New York scored bottom with the highest average beer price.

In order to determine the most fun cities in the U.S., WalletHub’s analysts compared the 150 most populated cities across three key dimensions:

1) Entertainment & Recreation,

2) Nightlife & Parties and

3) Costs.

The site used 58 relevant metrics to analyse those dimensions. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the greatest number and variety of fun and cost-effective activities.

Each city’s weighted average across all metrics was combined to calculate its total score and ranking.
