Convious, a leading eCommerce platform for the leisure industry, has announced that it is sponsoring the second annual Visitor Attraction Website Report Survey. The report, from website specialists Rubber Cheese, launched on 10 May at Museums & Heritage Show 2023.

The Visitor Attraction Website Report Survey aims to help organisations develop their digital infrastructure and improve visitor satisfaction.

The report launched in 2022 and offered visitor attractions a benchmark for websites for the first time. It shares insights on user experience, booking journeys, mobile experience, and more.

In 2023 the report will interrogate information about personalisation. It will question if a venue’s digital offer is closely aligned with its physical venue – or if an off-the-shelf product is being used.

Kelly Molson, founder of Rubber Cheese, says: “Last year we made history by establishing the first-ever benchmarks for visitor attraction websites. This year we’re excited to see how the sector has progressed and where there is still room for improvement. Participate in our survey to contribute to this year’s report and help drive the sector forward.”

Defining online conversion

Andy Povey, managing director, UK & Ireland at Convious, will be speaking alongside Molson at the Museums & Heritage Show, on 11 May, 11.30 am on the main stage. They will discuss how vital it is for museums to track conversion rates, looking at the 2022 report and case studies from Convious’ partners.

The session will define online conversion, what data can be measured, and what benefit it can offer. This might be financial benefits, such as Gift aid and upsells, or benefits for visitor satisfaction – like creating great first impressions and guest experiences.

Povey says: “We’re looking forward to sharing our insights on critical conversion which will help museums learn how data-driven decisions can increase revenue, drive visitor engagement and boost their online ticket sales. We believe that tracking conversion rates is essential for museums to measure their success and create a better experience for visitors”

Attractions in the museum sector are encouraged to take part in the 2023 Visitor Attraction Website Report Survey and share their best practice and findings. The survey closes at the end of July, and the results will be available in September.

Marketing professionals, managers, and digital professionals in the visitor attraction sector can take part in the survey here.

Convious is exhibiting at Stand K10 at the Museums & Heritage Show 2023 in London on 10 and 11 May. Attendees can visit to find out more about the survey and see the firm’s innovative marketing platform at work.

Convious recently revealed two algorithm updates to its real-time pricing strategy. The new Global Pricing strategies reward customers for making early bird purchases and for being the first to make a purchase on a specific date.
