Leading immersive entertainment company, D-BOX Technologies Inc., has announced a new partnership with Secret Location, a content studio for emerging platforms.
The new deal sees Secret Location become the primary distributor for D-BOX-enabled virtual reality (VR) content intended for location-based entertainment (LBE) environments.
Secret Location will also integrate its content management platform, Vusr, into D-BOX motion systems. The move aims to provide exhibitors with a unique operational turnkey solution that can be seamlessly installed in any LBE.
D-BOX sees the new deal as a timely response to the rapidly expanding VR LBE industry. One of the challenges facing major players currently is the lack of premium content and reliable distribution.
This new agreement will allow for global distribution, as well as providing insights into consumer behaviour and content preferences. The company says it will also generate recurring business revenue from an industry that, according to Orbis Research, is expected to be worth $40 billion by 2020.
