Virtuix, developer of the Omni virtual reality treadmill and Omni Arena esports attraction, has announced that the Rockin’ Raceway at Pigeon Forge has debuted the Omni Arena esports attraction.
Virtuix is proud to bring the Omni Arena to another new location, along with FACE Amusement Group. Visitors to the Rockin’ Raceway location in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, can now enjoy the cutting-edge virtual reality experience.
The Omni Arena attraction uses motion technology to give players the experience of running in virtual reality. The high energy system can accommodate four players, and also features a built-in staging area. Here, there are eight seats, 11 TVs and 11 touchscreens where guests can view pre- and post-game shows as well as recorded gameplay. They can even share the footage of their experience on social media.
Action-packed entertainment
There are four game options. These range from team matches to player-vs-player games. Over 300 guests played Omni Arena in the opening week. “We are eager to bring a new level of amusement to the classic environment of Rockin’ Raceway,” says Bucky Mabe, CEO of FACE Amusement Group. “This action-packed attraction allows guests to explore the world of virtual reality and with its 4 games and ongoing prize contests, players have plenty to keep them coming back for more.”
The Rockin’ Raceway entertainment complex is a popular destination, offering go-karting and more than 150 arcade games, right on the Pigeon Forge parkway. “We’re excited to work with FACE Amusement Group and bring Omni Arena to Pigeon Forge,” says Jan Goetgeluk, CEO of Virtuix. “This is the first-of-its-kind arena in Tennessee, and we’re sponsoring a $50,000 prize pool for players to come and compete against teams around the world.”
Omni Arena is affordable and compact, measuring 375 square feet and costing $121,000, making it an ideal anchor attraction. Guests can enjoy a complete experience that lasts 15 to 20 minutes. In a recent survey of 1,100 players, 40% said they had come to the venue specifically to play the attraction.
Virtiux recently announced that the Omni Arena is projected to earn $300,000 in its first year and achieve a return on investment (ROI) of five months. This is based on results from Omni Arena’s first three months of operation at Pinballz, a family entertainment centre (FEC) in Austin, Texas.
