EPIC Entertainment Group creates holiday magic for California resorts

EPIC Entertainment Group Hotel del Coronado Christmas

The magic of Christmas has been brought to the US East Coast

EPIC Entertainment Group, a producer of themed entertainment, live events, and immersive environments, has announced its partnership with two holiday décor spectacles in San Diego, California ahead of the festive season.

“As experts in storytelling through creative activations, we are honoured to be the team who dreams up new experiences for both Hotel del Coronado and Alila Marea resort guests,” says Charity Hill of EPIC Entertainment Group. “We are grateful for the opportunity to expand theme curation and guest immersion through design and décor. We cannot wait for everyone to be a part of the holiday spirit at both locations this season.”

The popular “At First Light” light show extravaganza will return to the Hotel del Coronado’s century-old trees, bigger and brighter than ever before. EPIC will have over 75,000 lights displaying coordinated dazzling illuminations for nearly 12 minutes after its premiere in 2021. Frosted by the Sea guests may also enjoy new heated beachside igloos filled with glittering lights, comfy seating, and seasonal décor.

Christmas trees

EPIC will also once again be dazzling the historic foyer of the Hotel del Coronado with a gigantic 22-foot Christmas tree adorned with approximately ten thousand amber lights and nearly two thousand ornaments.

With beautiful bows of lush garland, shimmering giant ornament displays, and over 20 themed Christmas trees ranging in size from 8ft to the show-stopping 23ft lobby tree and the 25ft garden tree, EPIC’s storied winter décor can be appreciated across the whole property.

Alila Marea Beach Resort, a short drive up the coast, will likewise sparkle brightly during the Christmas season thanks to EPIC Entertainment Group‘s thoughtful decor implementations. Alila Marea, which has just been named a Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Resort for 2022, is the newest hotel resort to work with EPIC for holiday experiences.

“The architecture of Alila Marea Beach Resort is already telling a compelling story. Our goal is to reinforce that story through the use of existing coastal elements much like the property itself,” adds Hill. “We are celebrating the season through a lens of the local landscape, incorporating the natural mediums of pampas grass, sea glass, driftwood, copper, pewter, and gold.“

Creating local beacons

Alila Marea is a crafted luxury resort, giving authentic and bespoke experiences in a world-class beachside setting, perched atop a breathtaking coastal cliff along one of Southern California’s most dramatic sections of coastline. This stunning seasonal display will be a beacon of the holidays for the local population, with 30+ giant glowing dandelions and a 22ft coastal-inspired tree exhibited on the hillside.

EPIC Entertainment Group, co-founded in 2016 by Charity Hill and Steve Sheldon, is known as the mastermind behind some of the country’s largest haunted attractions, including Dark Horizon in Orlando and Dark Harbor at the Legendary Queen Mary in Long Beach, California – as well as recently as partners with Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania for Dark Nights and Hush! Haunted Attraction in Detroit, Michigan.
