Craig Connor moves from chief operating officer to chief experience officer

Solomon Group, an award-winning leader in exhibit fabrication, AV systems integration and live event production, has announced the promotion of Craig Connor to chief experience officer (CXO). In this role, moving from his previous position as COO, he will be the lead voice and guide of the firm’s customer journey.

This expansion of its executive team is thanks to the fact that the company has continued to grow its award-winning productions in themed environments, live events and cutting-edge experiential technology. Recent successful projects include the World of Coca-Cola and the ESSENCE Festival.

Solomon Group is also expanding its creative and fabrication teams.

Continued expansion

Speaking about his new role, Connor says:

“My new focus is two-pronged. The first is to continue the expansion of our business, leading the next phase of growth across our three branded business units. The second is to be there for our customers, ensuring that their creative dreams are fulfilled flawlessly each time, guaranteeing that they always have a senior executive with his finger on the pulse of each project.”

Connor will lead Solomon Group’s growing presence in branded theme parks, major league sporting events, musical productions, cultural museums, and live entertainment.

Following this move, the firm will be recruiting for another C-suite slot to fill the newly vacated COO position, based in Orlando. The successful candidate will oversee the company’s expansion in its three branded business units.

Last year, Solomon Group opened a new 45,000-square-foot exhibit fabrication facility in Orlando. The company is headquartered in New Orleans and dates back to 2009 and has worked on projects with George Washington’s Mt. Vernon, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the International African American Museum, Planet Word and The National World War II Museum, as well as leading theme parks and popular immersive experiential technology exhibits.

In the Summer of 2022, Solomon Group also appointed two world-class professionals to its team of creators, technologists and strategic leaders. Dana Worthington joined the expanding sales team while Todd Beam stepped into the role of vice president of experience technology/AV integration.
