accesso Acquires VisionOne for $33m, Expanding Into Live Entertainment and Assigned Seating Ticketing

News

accesso Technology Group plc, the premier technology solutions provider to the global attractions and leisure industry, has announced the acquisition of VisionOne Worldwide Ltd.

The acquisition gives accesso a major presence in the live entertainment and assigned seating industry.

VisionOne is a leading provider of ticketing solutions for casinos, fairs, sporting events, arenas, theaters, performing arts centers and tours.   The company’s software product, ShoWare™, is a customizable cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ticket sales and distribution solution used by operators of more than 475 venues and leisure organisations throughout North and South America.  ShoWare processes more than 19 million tickets annually and was the first ticketing platform to allow the ability to sell tickets through Facebook.

Commenting on the announcement, Bruno Boehi, VisionOne CEO, said, “We’re excited to be joining a company as respected and progressive as accesso.  By combining our technology with accesso’s award-winning solutions and established relationships, we can significantly accelerate our shared vision of leveraging technology to build better connections between venues and consumers around the world.”

VisionOne will retain its Fresno headquarters and Boehi will serve as president of the VisionOne division of accesso with all VisionOne employees joining the accesso group.

accesso’s acquisition of VisionOne is the company’s third major transaction in three years, following an ambitious strategy for growth set out by CEO Tom Burnet.

Burnet says that he is “very pleased to take this next step along our growth path – and I am particularly encouraged by the quality of technology and people that join us as a part of today’s acquisition.  The ShoWare™ solution and the ethos of the team behind it match many elements of our own approach, not least a commitment to customer service but also a shared excitement about the potential for growth in ticketing technology, particularly in the mobile arena.  Today’s acquisition will further extend our reach outside of theme parks and deeper into the leisure sector, as well as permit both our teams to chase revenue and customer opportunities that, alone, would not be open to us.”
