Attendees can enjoy InfoComm Esports Live, an interactive booth experience, and sessions exploring emerging technologies

AVIXA, the audiovisual and integrated experience association and producer of InfoComm, has announced more details ahead of this year’s event at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, from 10 – 16 June. The trade show element is open from 14 – 16 June.

Attendees at InfoComm 2023 will be able to discover the latest technology and learn new skills. They will also be able to grow their professional network. The show covers integrated experiences, products for audio, conferencing and collaboration, digital signage, content, production and streaming, video capture and production, control, live events and attractions.

InfoComm Esports Live

Firstly, AVIXA has announced that it is partnering with AVI Systems to present InfoComm Esports Live, the show’s first live, collegiate esports venue on the trade show floor.

This will take place at booth #4033 from 14 – 16 June, and attendees will get to see esports in action over the course of the three days. There will be a gaming stage with live match-play tournaments, esports expert presenters and technology at the coach’s stage, play-by-play, interviews, and podcasts from the Shoutcast desk, and a full production zone,

“Nothing shows off the impact of our industry better than esports,” says Brad Sousa, chief technology officer, AVI Systems. “Live front-of-house audio and media, broadcast and production technologies, advanced media over IP networking with a heavy dose of competition and event production – that’s the tech impact of esports.”

The gaming stage at InfoComm Esports Live will feature champion-level collegiate teams, including Faulkner University and Talladega College, playing live three-on-three Rocket League matches using gaming stations from CORSAIR and Logitech. The area is furnished with Sony headsets, multi-camera production, large-format displays, and gaming displays. Additionally, there are Spectrum gaming desks and chairs, Q-SYS lighting and music systems, and a NETGEAR lightning-fast network that ensures smooth operation for college students and staff.

There will be an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and champagne toast on Wednesday 14 June at 10 am and coffee and tea on Thursday 15 June 15 at 9:30 am. Attendees will also have their own chance to play on Friday 16 June between 11 am and 2 pm.

“We are ecstatic to partner with AVI Systems and leading manufacturers to present the exciting world of esports to the InfoComm audience,” says Rochelle Richardson, CEM, senior vice president of expositions and events at AVIXA. “InfoComm Esports Live allows attendees to join an integrated experience and learn from the experts behind the magic while on the InfoComm show floor.”

InfoComm attendees can also attend educational sessions, including an expert panel talking about how to create a live venue AV set-up in Intro to Live Streaming System Design for Performance Spaces, on Wednesday 14. Other sessions include How Esports Can Take Universities to the Next Level on Thursday 15 June and an Integrated Experience Tour of Full Sail University on Tuesday 13 June.

Interactive booth experience

Elsewhere, InfoComm has partnered with Moment Factory, the multimedia entertainment studio specialising in the conception and production of immersive environments, and LED designer and manufacturer Nanolumens to present an interactive booth experience. This will take place on the Nanolumens booth, #361.

An array of unique visual systems will be on display within the interactive experience, developed by Moment Factory and powered by Nanolumens, to illustrate the cutting-edge possibilities in digital signs that inspire wonder in the audience. A pair of 16 by 9-foot Nanolumens Engage Series 2.5mm LED walls will be used to display this activation, which will also incorporate tracking, scanning, and Kinect technology.

Starting on 14 June, this project will offer a variety of interactive displays that will react to guests’ gestures and motions to provide a personalised experience. Visitors can influence and manipulate the content in a number of ways over the duration of three days, exploring the boundaries of innovation and creativity.

On Wednesday 14 June, Jamie Reilly, general manager of Moment Factory Events and USA, will join Dorothy Di Stefano, founder/director of Molten Immersive Art, to talk about Moment Factory’s vision for the creation of immersive experiences.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate on this interactive experience with Moment Factory and Nanolumens and can’t wait to unveil it at InfoComm 2023,” says Richardson. “This activation will embody how content, space, and technology are used to create incredible experiences.”

A spotlight on emerging technologies

Emerging technologies, including augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and virtual production, will also be highlighted at InfoComm 2023.

At The Unreal Ride, A Virtual Production Experience Presented by Vū, Unilumin, and MRMC (booth #6081), attendees can see virtual production in action. The teams have worked together to present a brand-new Unreal Ride that includes a Jeep and allows two users to go around new virtual landscapes made especially for InfoComm 2023.

The newest advancements in virtual production technology, such as advanced LED panels, a motion-controlled camera, camera tracking, virtual environments made with Unreal Engine, and lighting designed for virtual production, will be used to give attendees an experience that combines the real and virtual worlds.

“We’re really looking forward to this virtual production experience Vū, Unilumin, and MRMC are bringing to InfoComm 2023,” says Richardson. “The InfoComm audience is not only going to see the magic of virtual production – they’re also going to get to participate!”

InfoComm will deliver Emerging Trends, an annual evaluation of the most recent technological developments in the market, on Tuesday 13 June. The half-day programme, which is being led by Pete Coman of PTS Consulting, will take participants on a fascinating journey to learn how upcoming technologies like wireless collaboration tools, NDI, VR, and AR will revolutionise the way we connect and collaborate.

The first session of the day is Beyond Reality: Exploring the Future of Work with Virtual and Augmented Reality, led by Linda Gedemer of AlphaTech. Oliver Van Camp from Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualisation solutions, and Christopher Jaynes from Q-SYS will then present Unleashing the Power of Connectivity and Collaboration: A Glimpse into the Future.

Next, the topic of Paul Harris from Aurora Multimedia’s talk is Revolutionising the Workplace: The Future of Audio Visual & Control Technology. The last session of the programme is titled NDI and Dante AV: Who Is the Real AV Superhero?, with Will Waters from Audinate and Paul Richards from PTZ Optics.

“The education program at InfoComm 2023 will show you the endless possibilities of pro AV technology,” says Annette Sandler, director, live content, U.S./Canada, AVIXA. “Attendees can take classes on specific technologies they need to learn more about and different applications and case studies for projects that they’re working on. Our Emerging Trends program is a must-attend for anyone wanting to know “what’s next” in the ever-evolving world of pro AV.”

Exploring AI

More than 100 hours of education on key pro AV subjects, including cutting-edge technology like AI, will be offered at InfoComm 2023.

Stephen Jenkins and Blaine Brown from Diversified will offer the talk The Impact of AI: How AI Will Enhance and Transform the Industry on Wednesday 14 June at the Technology Innovation Stage (booth #2260). They will examine cutting-edge cloud services like OpenAI and Microsoft Copilot as well as collaboration tools driven by AI. The impending transition from “preventative” to “predictive” maintenance through AI-enabled analytics, which will enable self-healing capabilities, will also be covered.
