World leading technology solutions provider, Black Box Network Services, has launched a ground-breaking system management platform, Boxilla.

The enterprise-level KVM and AV/IT Boxilla system is among a raft of new innovations announced by the Pennsylvania-based company.

Other new products include the VS2000 H.264 Encoder and Decoder, plus the IN-SESSION Room Scheduler.

Boxilla is being positioned as a comprehensive and centralised command centre suited to large-scale enterprise deployments.

This includes everything from emergency control rooms to classrooms and conference centres.

Black Box Unveils Range of Technology Innovations Including Boxilla System Management Platform

The platform is designed to manage high-performance KVM, KVM over IP, virtualised end-points and various AV/IT devices on one centralised command centre.

Therefore, administrators can effortlessly control multi-environment KVM and AV/IT deployments via Boxilla’s powerful web-enabled and common user-interface.

Boxilla streamlines and automates the communications between KVM devices. Thus, Black Box has taken efficiency, simplicity and functionality in high-volume environments to the next level.

“As one example of Boxilla’s capabilities, our first integration is with Black Box’s InvisaPC solution, the first and only high-performance solution to virtualised KVM systems,” explained John Hickey, Senior Director of Research and Development and KVM systems at Black Box.

“Now with Boxilla, the InvisaPC system is a scaleable virtualisation solution with a matrix that can scale to an unlimited number of devices, expanding its stand-alone capability for a maximum of 32 physical and/or virtual servers.”

VS2000 H.264 Encoder and Decoder

The company’s VS2000 H.264 encoder and decoder have been developed to integrate within pro AV solutions, enabling transmission of full HD video and audio over the Internet or any IP network.

The encoder is available on its own or together with its matching decoder. In fact, a single VS2000 encoder can transmit video to an unlimited number of decoders.

According to Black Box AV Product Manager, Erik Indresovde, the VS2000 encoder and decoder have been developed as a direct response to customers requesting a solution that integrated with the company’s current AV offering.

“Customers prefer to deal with less vendors,” he added. “We can support and provide the network equipment when deploying AV over IP.”

The solution is reportedly ideal for corporate, healthcare, education, energy and transportation industry applications.

IN-SESSION Room Scheduler

Finally, the new IN-SESSION Room Scheduler has been developed to improve the room scheduling process. This includes increasing productivity and maximising space availability. The multi-lingual system enables users to instantly reserve, extend, end or cancel meeting rooms via a user-friendly interface.

Founded in 1976, Black Box is committed to delivering superior project engineering, technical support and 24/7-customer service through a global network of 3,500 team members.
